Using the SmartSpreadsheet Spreadsheet

Getting Started

First Step - Create a new QlikView Document or Open an existing one

You can't open the SmartSpreadsheet Spreadsheet outside Qlikview. So if you don't have an existing QVW you must create one.

Second Step - Create the necessary Variables.

In order to store the functions and procedures of the SmartSpreadsheet Spreadsheet the QlikView document must have at least the following variables. vSpreadData & vSpreadCalc.
In the Qlikview Document toolbar you will find the Settings button.Choose "Variable Overview" and Add the above Variables. See the picture below.


Third Step - Toggle on the Web View.

The SmartSpreadsheet Spreadsheet working only in web view. So you must turn on the web interface.
In the Qlikview Document toolbar you will find the View button.Choose "Turn on/off Webview". See the picture below.


Forth Step - Make your SmartSpreadsheet Spreadsheet.

When you are in web view right click in the sheet and choose New Sheet Object andthen Extension Objects.
Then drag the cross beside the SmartSpreadsheetSheet and drop it to the sheet. See the picture below ©

How you can use your SmartSpreadsheet Spreadsheet.

You can use the SmartSpreadsheet Spreadsheet in the following ways.

Integrate Your Spreadsheet Into Qlik.

You can have true data integrity by Uploading your excel spreadsheet into Qlik and use the Qlik functionality.
Use the File drop down menu and Upload you excel spreadsheet either Overwriting the old one or Appending new Sheets on it.

Use the fields you already have in your Qlikview document

You can use the fields of your Qlik document as Dimensions or Expressions like in any other Qlikview Object (Tables, Pivot etc).
Right click on the SmartSpreadsheet spreadsheet and choose properties. Then add the desired dimensions and expressions.
In the picture below you can see the "Properties" menu.


Combine the data of your Spreadsheet with the fields you already have in your Qlikview document.

After uploading your Excel Spreadsheet into the SmartSpreadsheet you can add a new sheet and use the Excel data in combination with the fields of your Qlik document Right click on the SmartSpreadsheet spreadsheet

SmartSpreadsheet Spreadsheet functionality.

After you creating the SmartSpreadsheet Spreadsheet you can use the Spreadsheet Formula Functionsand the SmartSpreadsheet Formula Functions to manipulate your data.
You can use the Spreadsheet Formula Functions by begin writing in the appropriate cell the "=" character and then the first letters of the desired function.
An autocomplete window will helps you syntax the formula.
Or you can use the SmartSpreadsheet Formula Functions by clicking the fx button above the letter captions of the spreadsheet.

SmartSpreadsheet Spreadsheet text formatting.

You can format text using the Spreadsheet Home menu.
It has the most favorite text format functions divided into four categories.
· Font
· Alignment
· Merge
· Numbers

You can delete, insert or format cells, columns, rows or entire sheets using the Spreadsheet Additional menu.
You cal also Sort your data or use the Auto Filter Row Function.
The functions of this menu are divided into two categories.
· Cells
· Short and Filter

Saving

Before Saving your Qlikview Document you must Save the In the File menu use the Save SmartSpreadsheet button. Then you can save your Qlikview Document safely. Spreadsheet.

Printing

Printing the Spreadsheet

The printing procedure is simple also. Use the Then choose from the Print Sheet In the picture below you can see the File drop down menu and select Preferences the desired values and press the OK button.

Exporting

Exporting the Spreadsheet

In the File menu you can use Download or Download Values buttons to export you SmartSpreadsheet Spreadsheet.
· Download : You can export the entire Spreadsheet with the Formulas.
· Download Values : You can export the entire Spreadsheet without Formulas.
